The register lists the names of guests and entertainers staying at the hotel for the period 1891 to 1895, and includes each guest’s signature, address and place of residence, room number, and date and time of arrival. The Illustrated Long Island viewbook dates from 1883 and consists of 12 color non-photographic prints of illustrations of Long Island, N.Y. Included in the viewbook are two images relating to Brooklyn: a view of the Oriental Hotel which was located on Manhattan Beach and a view of the Brooklyn Bridge (referred to as the East River Bridge). All other images are of Long Island and include views of hotels, beaches, and harbors located within Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
