Register of H.C. Yetter’s Hotel in Greenport, Long Island, N.Y., operated by proprietor Henry C. Yetter. The register lists the names of guests and entertainers staying at the hotel for the period 1891 to 1895, and includes each guest’s signature, address and place of residence, room number, and date and time of arrival. The last several pages of the register contain children’s drawings dating from 1909.

The Charles Hallock papers include a biography, handwritten notes on club memberships, essays, and publsihed works by Hallock. One document in the collection is titled Escapes and Deliverances of Charles Hallock. Charles Hallock (1834-1917) was an author, journalist, geographer, naturalist, and explorer. Born in New York City, Hallock was a descendent of Peter Holyoke, one of the original settlers of Southold, Long Island.

The Illustrated Long Island viewbook dates from 1883 and consists of 12 color non-photographic prints of illustrations of Long Island, N.Y. Included in the viewbook are two images relating to Brooklyn: a view of the Oriental Hotel which was located on Manhattan Beach and a view of the Brooklyn Bridge (referred to as the East River Bridge). All other images are of Long Island and include views of hotels, beaches, and harbors located within Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The viewbook was published by the Long Island News Company and page size measures 3.7 x 6.2.
