HONOREES

Christopher O. Ward, Urban Infrastructure Visionary Christopher O. Ward

Christopher O. Ward is the former Executive Vice President and Chief Executive, Metro New York, at AECOM, a $17.4-billion, fully integrated infrastructure and support services firm that designs, builds, finances and operates infrastructure assets globally. Mr. Ward led strategic growth and profitability for the Design and Consulting Services group responsible for over 1,600 architects, engineers, scientists and support staff working on transportation, water and wastewater, environment, power, and buildings.

His 30-plus-year career in infrastructure and government comprises experience in both the public and the private sectors, including a successful tenure at the Port Authority of NY and NJ, where he led the World Trade Center rebuilding effort — delivering on a commitment to open the 9/11 Memorial by the 10th anniversary of the tragic events.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Ward served in the Bloomberg Administration, leading the Department of Environmental Protection. Previous roles included executive positions at Dragados USA, the General Contractors Association of New York, and American Stevedoring, Inc.

An instructor of pedagogy, first at Teachers College, Columbia University and currently at Long Island University, Tracy is a doctoral candidate at the Graduate Center at CUNY. During her 11 years in the NYC public
school system, she has collaborated with The Brooklyn Museum, the Schomberg Center for Research in Black Culture, and the New York Botanical Gardens among many others.
